German Pavilion Back at SEMICON After Six Years! Top-Notch German Products Improve Manufacturing Efficiency and Increase Sustainability

Germany’s role in the semiconductor industry is becoming increasingly important. Chip giants such as TSMC and Intel have decided to invest in Germany and the German powerhouses Bosch and Infineon are essential pillars of Germany’s semiconductor industry. But the veins of an industry are often smaller suppliers that provide high-tech solutions for specific purposes. 10 of those hidden champions now join the German Pavilion at this year’s SEMICON from September 6 to 8. It is the first German Pavilion at SEMICON since 2017, and the first one that the German Trade Office Taipei—through its service unit DEinternational Taiwan Ltd.—organizes in cooperation with Silicon Saxony e.V. and the Netherlands Office Taipei. The resulting German–Dutch Pavilion located at TaiNEX Hall 1, Floor 4 (L1006) takes the pavilion scale to the next level, covering a total area of 90 square meters.

“It is great to be back at SEMICON,” states Mr. Axel Limberg, Executive Director of the German Trade Office Taipei. “The motto of this year’s SEMICON is ‘Inspire Innovation. Empower Sustainability’, which is precisely what German companies stand for. German companies are well-known for spearheading sustainability in their manufacturing processes while retaining their sense for high quality.”

The German Pavilion at SEMICON 2023 showcases a wide variety of products and services, covering components and systems for nanoscale applications, professional cleaning materials for industrial applications and fully automated handling systems for non-standard substrates and handling requirements. There are also the latest         joining methods for the electric and electronic industry, atmospheric plasma systems as well as UV sterilization, UV curing, and UV disinfection. Furthermore, the exhibitors support customers with the design, construction, expansion, and modernization of fabs, provide high-quality services for the protection and management of intellectual property rights and inform visitors about investment possibilities in Saxony, a state in eastern Germany which constitutes the heart of Germany’s and Europe’s semiconductor industry.

“The wide range of products and services displayed at our pavilion proves how broadly positioned the German semiconductor sector is,” continues Mr. Limberg. “Our exhibitors are ready to share their expertise and assist Taiwanese companies in getting more sustainable while writing the next chapter of Taiwan’s semiconductor success story.”

On top of each company displaying their latest products and services, there will also be exhibitor presentations on September 7 from 14:00 to 16:00. The topics include, among other things, the role of plasma in semiconductor manufacturing, how manufacturing efficiency can be maximized by using high-performance UV water disinfection, and how new science-based technology can make processes in the microelectronics industry more sustainable. Furthermore, investment specialists will also expound on the reasons why investing in Silicon Saxony is a good choice for foreign companies.

The German Pavilion features the following 10 companies on an area of more than 90 square meters:

attocube systems AG, City of Dresden, DEAXO GmbH, Dennemeyer Group, intelligent fluids GmbH, mechatronic systemtechnik gmbh, NanoWired GmbH, Plasmatreat GmbH, Saxony Trade & Invest, and uv-technik Speziallampen GmbH.

Happy Hours at the German Pavilions (TaiNEX 1, 4F, L1006):
